Together we made a difference!

A huge ‘Thank you’ is extended to every family who has generously and overwhelmingly given to our appeal to help Ukrainian refugees. Above is just a small selection of items (toiletries, baby products and food) that have been left in the school Chapel. Such love has gone into some of these items. After hearing how many young mothers were going into early labour through the shock of war, a wonderful Year 8 pupil even took the time to knit 6 beautiful bonnets for tiny babies! I know each item will be received with much love and gratitude.

Over the Easter holidays, these will be taken to Life Church, Barnton, who will then send them in a lorry to their partner church in Romania who are working with many refugees.

Whilst the last month has witnessed the very worst that humanity has to offer, it has also witnessed the very best that humanity has to offer as people have given of their time, their money and their very selves, opening doors to strangers and loving sacrificially those who need it the most.

Please do continue to pray for all those affected by the trauma of war. Whilst the world pulls together to try and meet the physical needs of food, accommodation and education, the emotional needs remain high. Pray for healing, comfort, a sense of belonging and a very swift and peaceful end to the conflict. Please also pray for strength, wisdom and resources for all those working hard to support others.

It's times like this that make me proud of our amazing school community at Hartford. As a church school we are truly modelling the work of Jesus, who says,

‘When you give a luncheon or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbours, in case they may invite you in return, and you would be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you, for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.’ Luke 14:12-14, The Bible.

God bless you all!
