Heateacher Update 24th September 2021

Dear Parent

Another fairly brief email today. I have copied below the link to the information regarding the vaccination roll out for 12 – 15 year olds from the Department for Education. We have been given provisional dates for vaccinations at Hartford to take place in October and as soon as the dates are confirmed we will advise families of the process accordingly.

This autumn, all young people aged 12 to 15 are being offered a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Public Health England has updated its page of resources for young people and their families with answers to some frequently asked questions.

I would like to congratulate all of our students on the exemplary fashion in which they find their Year Group zones every morning. This is another of the changes to our routines that we have maintained and it allows us to start the day in a very calm and orderly manner.

Your child may have told you that our amazing dome has been put up again this week; this space creates another indoor area for PE lessons in readiness for the winter months and is a sight to behold – especially when the floodlights are on in the evenings. For the Year 7 cohort this will be the first time for most that they will have had the opportunity to experience the dome.

We are also very excited that the windows have arrived for our gym refurbishment. The development of the space includes the creation of a mezzanine classroom and small group teaching room adjoining it; construction is progressing very well and we are hopeful of having the spaces available in the first week of November – at a real push it may be slightly earlier. In future weeks I will attach photographs!

Have a good weekend.

In Caritas et Veritas,

Mike Holland
