Headteacher Update 3rd December 2021
03/12/21Dear Parent
I hope you and your families are well.
Quite a few updates today:
END OF TERM/START OF NEXT TERM
Term ends on Friday 17th December at 1pm. Buses will leave just after this time.
The new term will start on Wednesday 5th January but we may need to stagger the start for some students as we are required to carry out Lateral Flow Testing. Details will follow as soon as they have been confirmed.
CAROL SERVICES FOR YEAR 7 AND YEAR 8
It is currently still our intention to hold separate services at St John’s Church Hartford during the school day on Wednesday 15th December. This will be the first opportunity that both of these year groups have had to go to our Parish Church together.
YEAR 7: PROGRESS DAY AND CARITAS AND VERITAS AWARDS
A reminder that Year 7 students have online Progress Day appointments on Monday 6th December.
CARITAS AND VERITAS AWARDS
Congratulations to the following students in Years 7 and 8 who are the first to achieve their Caritas (Year 7) and Veritas (Year 8) Awards for service to the school and the community. I know these will be the first of hundreds during this year at Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum Level.
CARITAS: Laura Hignett, Bethany Knight, Jack Webster, Samuel Mawrey, Isla Blowers, Ruby Ackerley, Lily Jones, Imogen Jump, Daisy Kennedy, Oliver Robinson, Carys Dorset, Alyssa Finlay-Thompson, Connie Martin.
VERITAS: Lyra Reilly, Tomos Dugard, Jessica Alley, Iris Clark, Olivia Deakin, Sophie Hickson, Gabi Walker
AND FINALLY
I often wonder about the seagulls who descend on our yard at the end of break and lunchtime looking for crumbs. I can only assume they have the timetables of all local schools at hand and that their day is guided by this. But what do they do at weekends? And where were they during lockdown? Rhetorical question – no need to reply!
In Caritas et Veritas,
Mike Holland
