Headteacher Update 24th June 2022

24/06/22

Dear Parent,

Our Year 11 students have now left us having completed their GCSE examinations. Yesterday they sat their final Science paper and attended a Leaving Assembly after spending time with their Form Tutors. In assembly they were addressed by their Head of Year, Mr Mason, and myself. They have now completed 997 of their 1000 day journey at Hartford – the final 3 days consist of their Prom, Results Day in August and Certificate Evening in November. We wish them well for their next steps and thank them for their contributions over the past 5 years; they have been a credit to themselves, their families and their school.

I know that you’re all avidly waiting to discover what I did with the water pistols I confiscated from some Year 11 boys a while ago. I took the decision to return them with a fearful hard stare, discharged of all ammunition.

Your child may have told you that we have rolled forward changes to break and lunchtime arrangements for students that will be in place for September. You will be aware that we have two canteens in school and that with split breaks and lunches we are able to ensure that every student is able to have a seat indoors or in a covered space outdoors. Years 8, 9 and 11 are able to have a canteen/outdoor area to themselves whilst Years 7 and 10 share the Caritas facilities – the rationale behind this is that Year 10 students are buddies for Year 7 students.

We have four school weeks remaining after today. Find below a list of upcoming events:

Enjoy your weekend.

In Caritas et Veritas,

Mike Holland
