Headteacher Update 1st April 2022

Dear Parent

I hope you are well. Thank you for your continued support this term – I hope you and your families are able to enjoy at least something of a break over the Easter holidays.

Thank you so much for all your many contributions for our Ukraine collection. The items have now been transported to Life Church in Barnton and will be sent abroad as soon as possible.

Today we say farewell to Mrs Griffin, Mr Hills and Mrs Webster. We wish them well in their next adventures and thank them for all they have done for our youngsters at Hartford.

As of today guidance regarding Covid-19 changes. It is a little less specific than we might expect but here it is:

  • regular asymptomatic testing is no longer recommended in any education or childcare setting. Therefore, settings will no longer be able to order test kits
  • adults with the symptoms of a respiratory infection, and who have a high temperature or feel unwell, should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people until they feel well enough to resume normal activities and they no longer have a high temperature
  • children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can go back to school, college or childcare when they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough to attend
  • adults with a positive COVID-19 test result should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days, which is when they are most infectious. For children and young people aged 18 and under, the advice will be 3 days

On Thursday 21st April we will be escorting our Year 8 students to our partner Church, St John’s, Hartford. Covid has influenced our ability to introduce the year group to our church community and engage in a formal act of worship and we are very excited to be able to do this with them for the first time.

And finally…Happy Easter. This time of year is the most important time on the calendar for Christians and our church school community; it continues to be a time when we pause for thought and give thanks for the love and truth of Jesus. What a great idea for a school motto!
