Headteacher Update 17th June 2022

Dear Parent

I hope you are well.

I must start with sad news this week regarding ex colleagues who have recently passed away. Linda Dawes worked at the school from 1978 to 2006 as Deputy Headteacher; Karen Corker was a Teaching Assistant who worked at Hartford between 1993 and 2007. I know that many of our parents are ex-Hartford students and will remember Linda and Karen; our thoughts and prayers are with their families at this time.

INDUSTRIAL ACTION ON THE RAIL NETWORK NEXT WEEK

We have had the following email from one of the train companies:

I’m sorry to advise that, as a result of planned strike action, rail services will be heavily disrupted throughout the duration of next week. Whilst strike action is currently planned for Tuesday 21^st June, Thursday 23^rd June, and Saturday 25^th June, the knock-on impact means that we are also expecting Wednesday 22^th June and Friday 24^th June to be similarly disrupted.

Our advice to customers is to expect severe disruption and to plan ahead. Further information is available on our website at www.lnr.uk/industrialaction.

Congratulations to the following students who achieved success in the 2022 Junior UKMT (Mathematics). This is a 60-minute, multiple-choice challenge. It encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems.

Sorry for the brevity of this epistle; it also lacks the usual levity. I’ll make up for it next week!
