We are a safe and caring Church of England School with demanding expectations and high standards. The academic work of the school is divided into curriculum areas ensuring the students have a strong academic suite of qualifications. In key stage 4 students are able to choose further subjects to study based on their interests and abilities.

Students have the opportunity to take part and compete in a wide range of sporting activities. The school has extensive and strong links with community clubs ensuring students can develop their talents to the highest levels. Sporting activities include netball, hockey, football, rugby, gymnastics, rowing and many more.

We offer a wide range of subjects and extra curricular activities to enrich the students’ experiences at Hartford. Our subjects in this area include Art and Design, Drama, Dance, Design and Technology and Music.

On joining us, all students become a member of one of four houses; Red, Green, Blue and Yellow. Our houses are led by a Head of House and a Pastoral Manager. Every student has a form tutor who monitors and supports them throughout their school life.

Our Church of England status is reflected in both the curriculum and the whole life of the school community. Collective worship has been, and continues to be, an integral part of school life. It encourages a respect, tolerance and care for the world, as well as the opportunity to think of the needs of others.
