Student Voice

Hartford High School is proud of the involvement the students have in running
the school. There are numerous ways in which the students can get themselves involved. Whether this is for recreational puposes or in an ambassadorial capacity, there is always a way to gain responsiblity.

School Council

Within High School there is a School Council, consisting of 80 members, which
is run by the students for the students. It is an opportunity for the students to
get involved with the responsibility which comes with running the school. They have a say on building maintenance, curriculum, charity events and even school policies through House, Tutor, Governor and PTA meetings.

Newsletter Editorial Team

Hartford High School also produces a school newsletter on a half termly basis. This newsletter is produced entirely by the students from the planning all the way through to the reporting, pictures and piecing it all together. It is a fantastic opportunity for students to get involved with working as a team to produce interviews, reports and reviews on school life. The newsletter is sent out to students, parents and primary partner schools within the locality - there is always
a spare copy around for visitors to the school.

“There is a very active school council that feeds ideas and concerns through to senior leaders, the headteacher and the governing body. A student said “ ..we are proud to be making a difference”. Inclusion Quality Mark Assessment 2009
