Setting and Grouping of Students

We believe that grouping by ability is the best way to meet the diverse, individual needs of each student. Usually resetting takes place at the start of the new timetable and in January.

Year 7:
ability setting in Maths, English & Science

Year 8 & 9:
ability setting in all subjects within subject blocks with the exception of PE.

Year 10 & 11:
ability setting in core subjects and all option subjects where there is more than one group in an option block.
