Pastoral Care

As a school we value and recognise that all of our students have individual talents. We build on the positive and address the areas of improvement, by ensuring we get to know each and every child as an individual.

On joining, all of our students become a member of a House, that is led by a Head of House.  Every child is allocated a Form Group, with a Form Tutor who is directly responsible for their students general progress within the school.

To support this structure we have an outstanding Inclusion Resource Centre that supports all children to re-engage with learning, when they have had to deal with any particular barriers to their studies.

At Hartford High School we interpret Special Needs very broadly to include those students who are Gifted and Talented, to those who may need specific individual support to aid their progress with learning. We are an inclusive school that believes that all individuals are entitled to an educational programme which meets their needs - we endeavour to provide this.
