Code of Conduct

Rewards and Sanctions

School is very keen to acknowledge, promote, celebrate and reward positive behaviour. Points and merits are logged on the computerised recording system, prizes are given termly to students in each Tutor Group for high attendance, good behaviour and great effort. Trips and activities are also arranged as rewards for those who merit them. There is a range of sanctions designed to modify and change unacceptable behaviour.

Pupil Handbook

Students have been instrumental in the design of our current handbook which is financed by our active PTA. It contains information for students and parents, it allows for home - school communication and it helps develop good organisational skills.  Students are responsible for taking their handbook to each lesson and for recording homework set. Parents support their child and school by checking and signing the handbook weekly.  Any confidential information is communicated individually.  The Handbook references day to day issues such as bringing valuables to school, mobile phones in school, uniform, attendance, punctuality and contacting school.

Information from Parents / Carers

Parents should notify school of all student absences. We actively encourage high attendance. Outside agencies are notified if absence reaches unacceptable levels. Requests for holidays during term time require the Headteacher’s permission. Form Tutors should be given advance notice of student’s appointments, medical or otherwise, scheduled during school hours.
