The Geography Department Aims
In Year 7 fieldwork is conducted around the school and in the local area.
Fieldwork for Years 8 & 9 is currently being reviewed to incorporate a fieldwork exercise in each year.
At GCSE there are field work opportunities attached to each of the units of study.
Assessments are made for each unit. The types of assessment vary from unit to unit and could include:
- written tests
- written assignments
- oral presentations
- group work
Geography at Key Stage 3
Year 7 - Discovering where we live, Economic Activities, Fair Trade & Kenya, Weather & Climate, Weathering & Erosion, Rivers
Year 8 - Farming, European Union, Italy, Earthquakes and Volcanoes, Use of Energy Resources, Snowdonia National Park
Year 9 - Ecosystems, Japan, India, Development, Coasts
Geography at Key Stage 4
Geography is an optional subject for GCSE
