The Art Department Aims We encourage pupils to explore and develop ideas in a range of media recording from first hand observation, experience and imagination. We work together to raise the standard of pupil performance through the delivery of challenging and stimulating programs of study by providing an insight into the world of Artists, Craftspeople and Designers from different social, economic, historical and cultural backgrounds. We provide pupils with a positive, safe, exciting and visually stimulating learning environment within which they can produce and develop independent, creative work of a personal nature and make a positive contribution to the school community. Art at Key Stage 3 Year 8 pupils will follow one major cultural brief which will have several outcomes throughout the year.
