What Does It Mean?
Specialist College
The Specialist School Programme (SSP) helps school, in partnership with private sector sponsors and is supported by additional Government funding, to establish distinctive identities through their chosen specialisms and achieve their targets to raise standards.
Specialist schools have a focus on those subjects relating to their chosen specialism but must also meet the National Curriculum requirements and deliver a broad and balanced education to all pupils.
Hartford High School is very proud and pleased to be one of the minority of schools that has been awarded dual specialisms: Languages and Sports.
