Summer Uniform

At Hartford Church of England High School we set very high standards for our students to encourage each individual to fulfil their own potential. We believe that impeccable uniform, exemplary behaviour and excellent attendance will equate to academic achievement and social wellbeing. We work closely with our Student Council on all aspects of school life.

In January this year, our Student Council requested a change in our Summer Uniform. They suggested gingham shirts in white and house colours and the option of tailored shorts for all students. These would be required to meet the standard length of 10 cm max above the knee. Unfortunately, we have been unable to source a supplier so far for the shirts but we are continuing to progress this. It is likely this will not take place now this Summer.

In the meantime, may I take this opportunity to remind you that our school uniform policy is on the website and standards are reinforced daily. Blazers must be worn at all times to and from school and during the school day until the students are advised otherwise. Once inside the classroom, students may remove their blazers with permission from the teacher. Next week we will be checking all uniform including skirt lengths. Skirts must be no shorter than 10cm above the knee. Please support us by ensuring your child is compliant.

In June, in line with our current Summer Uniform, students are permitted to remove their blazers after 11am. Students are still required to keep blazers on display at all times. In the event of an ‘extreme’ weather condition, this may be amended at the discretion of Mr Holland. However, ‘extreme’ in the eyes of Mr Holland is likely to be at about 40 degrees Celsius!

Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend!
