Thought of the Week

The God we serve is able to deliver us… but even if he does not, we want you to know that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.

Spring School – Mon 3rd and Tues 4th April 2017

On Monday 3 and Tuesday 4 April 2017, we are offering a ‘Spring School’ to support your child in preparing for their upcoming GCSEs. The final examination season will be quickly upon all Year 11 students, and this will be an opportunity for your child to receive some focused support and revision during the holiday period.

The previous intervention workshops have been well received by students and parents in the past, and we are sure this year will be no exception. Sessions will be run by the English, Maths, RS (Year 10 only), Geography, PE, ICT, Dance, Health and Social Care and Music departments. Please also be aware that there are many revision sessions currently running after school to further support your child. Timetables are posted up around school detailing these extra support sessions.

Please complete the online booking form below or complete the reply slip on the letter attached by Wednesday 29 March, circling on the form the workshops your child wishes to attend. Please note your child can only attend workshops if we are in receipt of the written permission slip or completed online form.  Forms should be returned to Mr Lee.

The timings for the days are as follows: –

9.15am                            Students to register in the West canteen for Workshop 1

9.30am – 11.30am       Workshop 1

11.30am – 12noon       Light lunch (food is provided for all students, free of charge)

Students register in West canteen for Workshop 2

12.00pm – 2.00pm    Workshop 2

2.15pm                          School closed

Lunch is provided for students, although they are welcome to bring their own instead should they wish. They will not, however, be allowed off site during the lunch break unless they are not attending the afternoon workshops. Although we do not expect students to wear school uniform, all other school rules will apply. West reception will be open as a point of contact on both days, and students are expected to sign in and out of the building.

I hope you will encourage your child to take this opportunity, and I look forward to seeing them there.
