On Monday 20 & Tuesday 21 February 2017, we are offering a ‘Half Term School’ to support your child in preparing for their upcoming GCSEs. The final examination season will be quickly upon all Year 10 and 11 students, and this will be an opportunity for your child to receive some focused support and revision during the holiday period.
The previous intervention workshops have been well received by students and parents in the past, and we are sure this year will be no exception. Sessions will be run by the English, MFL, RS, Geography, ICT, PE and Art departments. Please also be aware that there are many revision sessions currently running after school to further support your child. Timetables are posted up around school detailing these extra support sessions.
Please complete the online form below by Wednesday 15 February, ensuring you select on the form the workshops your child wishes to attend. Copies of the letter regarding Half Term School have been sent home with students and you can also return the permission slip attached to the letter to Mr Lee by Wednesday 15th February. Please note your child can only attend workshops if we are in receipt of either the written permission slip attached to the letter or the completed online form.
The timings for the days are as follows: –
9.15am – Students to register in the West canteen for Workshop 1
9.30am – 11.30am – Workshop 1
11.30am – 12noon – Light lunch (food is provided for all students, free of charge)
– Students register in West canteen for Workshop 2
12.00pm – 2.00pm – Workshop 2
2.15pm – School closed
Lunch is provided for students, although they are welcome to bring their own instead should they wish. They will not, however, be allowed off site during the lunch break unless they are not attending the afternoon workshops. Although we do not expect students to wear school uniform, all other school rules will apply. West reception will be open as a point of contact on both days, and students are expected to sign in and out of the building.
I hope you will encourage your child to take this opportunity, and I look forward to seeing them there.
